My Video/Youtube Gear

This is a list of the video gear that I use to record my videos for YouTube.

Recording Software

I am currently using OBS which is an open-sourced free software that allows people to stream and record. We started using OBS to stream our church services, and I found the program really useful. I also do some minor video editing in Premiere Pro through the Adobe Creative Suite.

Camera

I actually am using my iPhone 11 to record all my videos. I downloaded a $15.99 app from here, hooked up my phone to my computer via USB, and I was set. For videos where I have 2 shots, I have an iPhone 7 that I also hook up to my computer to use as a secondary camera.

Tripod

I use this tripod on a desk to hold my primary camera. It's thin, however, it feels like it will hold up for a long time.

Lighting

Neewar Desk Lighting Solution:

I bought these lights at the beginning of the pandemic to help light the room that my wife and I were recording worship in for our Sunday services. They fit really nicely on a desk and are very strong. I don't know anything about lighting, but I have one at half power sitting about 1 o'clock and the other one at 25% of power at 11 o'clock.  They are USB powered which works really nicely because I have a USB charging port on my desk.

They sometimes slightly flicker a bit when plugged into my USB charging port, but I believe that it has more to do with the power solution than the quality of the lights.
